Knowing Yogyakarta Indonesia

Most Filipino travelers would go to nearby countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau (Visa free country) but very few would go to Indonesia. Most Filipinos would only know Bali and Jakarta but little did we know that Indonesia has so much to offer for all types of travelers.
In July 2016, I got invited by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia together with 50+ other South East Asian bloggers and influencers to travel around Indonesia for 12 days. I extended my trip to Jakarta for 3 days and was not able to do so much because of the traffic jam. Few from our batch went to Yogyakarta and seeing their amazing photos made me want and eager to go back to Indonesia and visit Yogyakarta.
Luckily Last January 2018, I was able to go back in Indonesia, had a 4-day trip to Jakarta with AirAsia and finally extended my trip for another 4 days just to see the wonders of Yogyakarta. I always wanted to visit temples and palaces in this region and finally, I did. Let me share you where we s…

Dinner at Lido Cocina Tsina Naga Road Las Pinas

It was a lazy Friday night and I wasn't in the mood to cook so I decided to to have dinner at Lido Cucina with my Chichi, Manang and sis-in-law. Good thing, the restaurant is just walking distance to our house.

Because it was a rainy Friday, we ordered Molo Soup, and we tried their famous Roasted Pugon, Fried rice and Bochi for dessert. First, the soup was served and we loved it. Just the right balance, not too salty. And it has about 7-8pcs of Pork Siomai in it. Then, the Roasted Pugon is served. Wow! I didn't know it was that yummylicious and I love the sweet sauce. Bochi is just ok. Not a big fan of it. Lol. I will definitely be back here and try their other menus. Oh by the way, I only paid less than 800 pesos because we used Manang's Senior Citizen card. Yey for discount.

Chicken and Pork Adobo with Balsamic Vinegar

1 half chicken breast (chopped)
1/4 pork liempo (chopped)
Oyster sauce
Balsamic Vinegar
Whole pepper corn
Veg Oil How to cook:
Marinate chicken and pork with soysauce (1/4 cup) for 15-30mins. In a pan, put 2-3tbsp of cooking oil (I used veg oil) and saute crushed garlic (3-5 pcs), until brown then add the marinated pork, cook for about 5mins then add the chicken with the marinate. Add about 2-3 tbsp of balsamic vinegar, do not stir until you smell the acid. Add oyster sauce, pepper corn and 1 cup water. Cover and cook for 15-20mins in a medium heat. After 15-20 mins, check if the sauce has thickened and oil is visible, if so, then you can turn off the heat. Serve while hot. Enjoy! Adobo is the most famous Filipino dish. You can make chicken adobo, pork adobo, adobong kangkong, adobong pusit and a lot more. If you say Adobo, it's a dish with soysauce and vinegar. Over the years, Filipinos had become creative in making their own version of adobo. So to…

Steak & Veggies

This dish is very simple and easy to cook. Use whatever veggies you have, like carrots, sayote, corn kernel and even button mushroom. Ingredients:
T-bone steak (beef)
Pork steak cut (for people who prefers pork)
Knorr Liquid Seasoning Chopped Carrots
Chppoed Sayote
Butter How to cook:
Season beef / pork with salt, pepper and Knorr. In a non stick grill pan or any pan you have in your kitchen, cook the beef / pork in a medium heat. For beef, depends on you, I like it well done. When beef is cooked. Same pan, put butter and add the chopped veggies. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-5minutes. Serve while hot. Enjoy!

Vapor Hookah Lounge

After having dinner at Timber, we went to Vapor just a few blocks away and we had shisha and 1 pitcher of their mixed drinks. We ordered, strawberry flavor shisha. When it was served to us, we we're shocked because it's big. Not the typical shisha about 12 inches tall.

Lasheng naba ako? Nope!

Push mo yan Gayle! Pakalunod ka sa shisha! Smile to the camera. :)

I think we only stayed here for about 2 hours, then we called it a night. Too much smoke inside, though I like the bar's interior. We only spend less than 600 pesos for the Big Shisha and 1 pitcher drink.

Wee Num kee - ATC

We had a staycation at Azumi last May and after we checked in at the hotel we went straight to ATC to have our lunch. As we were scouting restaurants at the new wing of ATC. We saw Wee Num Kee at the far end of the new wing near the escalator. So I said to my sis-in-law, why don't we give it a try there.

We ordered Sauteed Beef Fillet with Broccoli in Oyster Sauce. (beef is tender and I love the sauce, not too salty or sweet)

Roasted Chicken good for 2 ( better tasting than Max's)

And Roasted Pork with rice

My ratings:
Value for money : Very good!  I only spent around 1000 pesos.
Taste: Very Good!
Presentation: Good!
Staff/Service: Good!

B Hotel during typhoon #glenda

I cannot believe that I'll be back in B Hotel - Alabang for the same reason I was here last year. It's all because we have to evacuate again for this month's Cyclone Typhoon #glenda that hit Manila last Wednesday. It was such a terrifying day because I woke up from my 2 hours sleep around 2 am hearing this whooping sound of the wind that looks like our roof will be blown away. I was up till 8 in the morning of Thursday because I cannot sleep hearing the wind and heavy rain. Power blackout even made it worse. I told hubby who was in Australia that soon as the strong wind and rain stops we will go to the nearest hotel.
We left home around 11 in the morning and we were able to check in around 1130. The hotel was fully packed and lot from the south are trying their luck to get reservations. So that day, it was B hotel who offers the cheapest room rate. Luckily my Lenovo tab still has charge and I booked our hotel via

Now, I was able to take photos of the hot…

Rancho Lorenzo - BF Resort Las Pinas

My best friend and hubby's niece are looking for a new place to eat so I suggest Rancho Lorenzo which I always see whenever I pass by BF. The restaurant is like Central BBQ Grill and restaurant because it's open air.

We are so hungry that night and we ordered their spicy Adobo called Adobo Diablo and Adobo Corn and Mushroom. Though I love spicy foods, I cannot eat this spicy chicken without drinking water after. It's too spicy, but the mushroom is just an average taste. They have reasonable prices. I would like to try their other menus and can make a better reviewof this establishment.

I will take pictures of their food next time. And will still try other menus. Nawalan ako gana picturan sa sobrang gutom namin at medyo disappointed kame sa inorder namin.

Vanilla Coffee - BF Resort Las Pinas

One of a good place to chill out around BF resort is Vanilla Coffee. They open a bit late at 2:00 in the afternoon, unlike Whitecup that they are open as early as 10:00 in the morning.

Their prices are a bit higher, actually it's almost the same as Starbucks. But I always order Caramel Frappe and my forever love hot Cappuccino. The shop is small but its a nice place. If I have to choose between Vanilla and White Cup, I will go for White cup. (I love Whitecup, free coffee naman jan?!)

The White Cup Coffee and Tea - BF Resort Las Pinas

As a coffee lover, I try to find good yet affordable coffee shop around Las Pinas and BF Paranaque. Most of us love the coffee mixes in Starbucks and I have to say that they have some coffee here are as good as other major Coffee Shop.

I always order Toffee Frappe and Almond Frappe. I love their hot Cappuccino. Their frappe is only 120 pesos for the size of Starbucks Venti and their hot coffee is only 80 pesos. I suggest you pair your coffee with Blueberry Muffins or Chocolate Muffins (both are yummy!!)

I have to say that this is my favorite coffee shop aside from Starbucks because it's affordable and a nice chill out place. Will never get tired going here, bringing my friends and cousins here.

Timber - BF Aguirre

Because we love to dine out and check other good bar and grill and restaurants around Las Pinas and Paranaque. We came across Timber while driving around Aguirre. My sister Steph, cousin Gayle and hubby's niece JC are with me to check out and try their food here.

We ordered Filipinos favorite Pork Sisig and Lechon Kawali. Both are delicious and we love their food presentation.

Ang bongga ng presentation nila sa serving ng rice. Very Asian ang peg.

Pork Sisig, my all time favorite ulam/pulutan.

Ang favorite na ulam ni cuz Gayle.

They also have live bands here, but we're not able to see it because we only came here to have dinner then we head out to Vapor Hookah Lounge. We will definitely go back here to see if their band is good. :)
