DIY: My old long sleeves to a new fashionable piece

I'll be attending an event this coming Saturday and I don't know what I'll be wearing so, I ransack my closet and found my old soft-maong type long sleeves.
Ofcourse, you need pair of scissors, some threads and needle so you can cut, sew your clothes.

I decided to cut off it's sleeves and put some designs on it to make it new/fashionable as it could. So, here's how it looks when you cut off the sleeves.
Just a simple running stitch will do for the hemline.
Then, you sew whatever embelishment you have and, viola! My old long sleeves got a new look now! I can wear it as it is or make it as a blazer. Very easy to do and I'm sure you can make it too on your old clothes. Just be creative and you'll have a new piece in an instant without costing you too much.
