Events: Lily's Peanut Butterrific University Fun Day

Lily's Peanut Butter has grown to be s traditional staple of Filipino households over the past 60 years. After many years of product excellence, the brand launched a huge campaign last year that brought the mother-and-son tandem of Karla Estrada and Daniel Padilla as endorsers. The campaign is all about the bond people share whenever they experience a love na walang katulad. A love that will make you say "Ikaw lang talaga".

This years 2015, Lily's goes all out anew with its Lily's Peanut Butterrific University Fun Day.  This event was held last February 22, 2015 from 11am to 7pm at the Market Market Activity Center.

It was truly an exciting day as there were interactive booths and fun-filled activities which entertained the crowd audience. Along with this successful Cook Off  with 2 celebrity chefs, Boy Logro and Victor Neri, which got everyone excited as the five (5) schools battled it out in two (2) rounds of cooking. They come up with original savory and sweet dishes using any of the Lily's products. Grand price winners and other participants enjoyed cash and gift prices. The highlight of the day was  the meet and greet with Daniel Padilla in the late afternoon.

The pioneering name in the industry that has become synonymous with taste and quality and made with all-natural ingredients, Lily’s Peanut butter has a distinct sweet-creamy taste well-loved by Filipinos. With such, it has evolved from more than just a bread spread to a key ingredient in many dishes. Yes, many dishes because Lily’s Peanut Butter goes well not just with the usual Kare-Kare but also with the likes of a Pan Grilled Deboned Chicken with Lily’s Peanut Butter Chutney, as shown in the cooking demo! The list can go from appetizers, main dishes, desserts to drinks and this is why everyone agrees, that the brand is like no other…“Ikaw lang talaga, Lily’s.”

First time to step inside Malacanang Palace

Brief History of Malacañang Palace

The Malacañan Palace is the official residence and workplace of the President of the Philippines. Malacanan Palace, it's original structure was built in 1750 by Don Luís Rocha as a summer house along the Pasig River. He is a rich Spaniard and later on sell the palace to the Philippine Government. Back then, when people see the palace they say "May Lakan na nakatira diyan". This means, there's a rich person living there. From then on, the palace is called Malacanan.

*In 1973, the Presidential Library—a gift for President Marcos by First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos on the occasion of his birthday, and distinct from the Malacañan Palace Library—was established at the ground floor of Maharlika Hall, now Kalayaan Hall. Besides being a library, it also served as a clearing house for President Marcos’ documents. In 1997, the Presidential Library was abolished, and its collections were transferred to the Malacañang Library.

*Info source from Malacanang.gov.ph

This has been one of the many great experiences I had as a blogger. It was my first time to visit and be inside the Malacanang Palace. Students will surely learn and will love history if they will have a tour inside the museum.

The famous Malacanan's Balcony where he announced that he won the 1986 Snap Election.

The very table that former President Ferdinand Marcos declared Martial Law back in September 21,  1972 (Wikipedia says it's September 23, however from what I remember in my High School History class it was 21st of September). And after the proclamation of Martial Law it was announced to the public, 3 days after.

Memorabilia's of all 15 Philippine Presidents are here in the museum.
And touring inside the Museum and Library has been culturally enriching for me.

If you want to visit the Malacanang Museum, visit their website and schedule a tour date.

Soecial thanks to Mr. Deo De Guzman of RMN DZXL for organizing our museum tour and Evo for our pictures.

Baguio Tree Top Adventure

PR for TREE TOP ADVENTURE:
Experience the Extreme Press Conference
On February 21, 2015, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tree Top Adventure will hold its very 1st press conference and media tour in which over twenty participants from the TV, online, radio and print industries will attend.

The program will be graced by Tree Top Adventure’s CEO Ms. Ma. Camille O. Montejo. A short program will be presented with a question and answer portion will take place first before proceeding with the tour in which the participants will try all the rides. They would also be trying the only motorized team building facilities in the Philippines.

Tree Top Adventure features six activities: two slow paced and four fast paced activities. One slow paced activity is the Trekking adventure in which you’ll be toured within the area. The tour guide will be introducing local plants and trees and share interesting facts about them.  If one wants to see the forest and appreciate nature from the top of the trees, they could try the Canopy ride. The entire ride has a hanging bridge and five stations which can carry three persons at a time in which you’ll be transferring from one tree to another. For heart pounding activities, one might want to try the Superman Ride, a horizontal motorized zipline in which you’ll be soaring back and forth in less than a minute. Another activity you could try is the parachute fall in which you’ll be going upwards, slowly, and when you’re 75 feet above the ground, you’ll suddenly fall. If you literally want to surf in the air, you could try the Silver Surfer, an inclined zipline that swings you back and forth between two trees. If you want to experience the extreme, we recommend you the Tree Drop in which you’ll be suspended 60 feet above the ground, mission impossible style and you’ll be dropped in a matter of seconds only.

Tree Top Adventure also offers the only motorized Team Building facilities in the Philippines in which participants would be challenged physically, mentally and even emotionally. Tree Top Adventure’s another branch, located at the Camp John Hay Baguio City, will also hold its press conference and media tour on March 14, 2015.

Ash Wednesday dinner in Pho Hoa Greenhills

Ash Wednesday for Catholics serves as the start of the Lenten Season. We attended the mass in Greenhills Shopping Center Chapel and right after the mass we headed to Pho Hoa which happens to be right beside the Chapel.

Ordered a Rice Meal (Chicken and Shanghai Rolls). Price range around 270-300 php. Grilled chicken looks appetizing. It's not too briny, just enough balance or sweetness and saltiness. Youngchow fried rice is fairly ok. Shanghai rolls is a bit blunt in my palette.

Chicken pot rice. However, it's not in a pot of rice. Rice is separated from the dish itself, (kinda confusing eh?). Important thing is, my kid liked it. And it's healthy because of the veggies like baby corn, carrots and chicken breast.

Pho Hoa is a Vietnamese Resto however, the foods that I ate we're like a Filipino dish which you can easily prepare in your own home.
Presentation: 3/5
Taste: 3.5/5
Price: 3/5

I'm a KID again! in PUZZLES

When was the last time you played a board game with your friends? Today, it's rare that you see kids play these games and all you see are kids playing on their mobile phones and tablets/ipads. Rekindle your childhood memories, those days when you just sit back and just play a simple Snakes and Ladders with your friends.

Puzzles - BF Aguirre. We went here the day after Vday just to spend our usual Sunday bonding with my fellow blogger friends. We first played my all-time favorite board game MONOPOLY. Yes! and this time it's electronic via ATM. When my childhood friends used to play this, we used play-money but now it's really modern, we use an ATM card, how cool is that? :)

I will definitely buy my own MONOPOLY. And I will teach my Chichi to play this game, as soon as she turned 7, lol.

An array full of board games. Loads of games to choose.

Second board game we played is HEDBANZ, this is the English version of PINOY HENYO. We definitely enjoyed all these 2 board games. And will surely come back here. Very Soon!

*If you want to play, pay 100 pesos for each player. Play all you want for 100php.

PR: Every Coffee Cup Needs A Lotus

PR: Every Coffee Cup Needs A Lotus

You’ve got to love the aroma of coffee, especially in the morning and in the afternoon, when it’s just about siesta time. Lotus Biscoff, Europe’s Favorite Biscuit with Coffee, has finally arrived in the country, and it is going to elevate your coffee experience to a whole new delicious level.
Hosted by Daphne-Osena Paez, the launch was held at the posh Society Lounge in Makati, transformed into a luxurious red airport lounge. Guests with their boarding passes cued in airport terminals for check-in. Attendants, clad in designer Pia Gladys Perey, greeted them upon arrival. A truly first class experience, overflowing coffee was served by Allegro Beverage Corporation upon seating and dishes were carefully prepared by Chef Patrice Freuslon. As the program started, everyone was just about excited as Fly Ace Corporation President Jun Cochanco and Lotus Bakeries International Distributors General Manager Bart Bauwens who shared how the partnership started and their plans for Lotus Biscoff in the country.

A highlight of the event is the Biscoff Creations of Tiny Kitchen’s Vicky Veloso-Barrera. Her interpretation of the Lotus Biscoff biscuits and spreads include Mini Biscoff Cinnamon Rolls, soft bread glazed with Lotus Biscoff spread and topped with toasted almonds. Mini Biscoff Cupcakes is a perfect recipe for first-time cupcake bakers as its main ingredient is a simple dollop of Lotus Biscoff Spread Crunchy and Biscoff crumbs. Another creation is the

Crazy Biscoff Parfait, a lavish dessert of sponge cake, mascarpone, and Lotus Biscoff Spread Smooth. Discover Lotus Biscoff for yourself. Take a bite of the deliciously crunchy Lotus Biscoff caramelized biscuit with your next cup of hot coffee. Since 1932, this Belgian specialty has been Europe’s coffee break favorite.  From its humble beginnings as a small bakery in the Belgium town of Lembeke, the Boone brothers packed their biscuits and delivered around the neighborhood. Eight decades later and the recipe still remain. It was in the 1950s when Lotus introduced pairing these biscuits with coffee, which then became a routine in Belgian hotels, restaurants, and coffee shops. And then, in 1985, Europe’s favorite biscuit with coffee became America’s favorite biscuit with air travel. Lotus introduced Biscoff as an in-flight treat through the exhausting long flights. It became a welcome mid-flight break that reminded fliers of the comforts of home and helped them relax. Lotus is still offered in Delta Air Lines (US), Brussels Airlines (Belgium), Middle East Airlines (Lebanon) and El Al (Israel).

The unique taste of Lotus Biscoff comes from the sugar’s caramelization during the baking process. A hint of cinnamon and other spices add that special twist.  If these crunchy biscuits do not satisfy your craving, then you wouldn’t be able to resist Lotus Biscoff spread. The sweet, creamy, European spread is an alternative to nut butters and chocolate spreads. It is the only spread made with original Biscoff cookies. Have it straight from the jar, lather it on toast, mix it with fruit slices, or add it as a secret ingredient

to your favorite recipes. Both the cookies and the spread are made with no artificial color or preservatives, 0 grams trans-fat per serving and zero cholesterol. It has no nuts and is completely non-GMO. Lotus Biscoff biscuits and spreads are just the perfect treat for the timeout that you deserve.

Fly Ace Corporation Product Manager Emie San Beda invited everyone to discover Lotus Biscoff, “Filipinos love coffee and we can see this in the variety of artisanal and commercial coffee shops. We love sharing this experience with friends and family, talking over sips of coffee and a bite of Lotus Biscoff will surely make it even more memorable.” Just as its European counterpart, Lotus Biscoff will be doing massive sampling in coffee shops all over the country, as well as in premium lifestyle events were coffee is enjoyed.

Fun and Adventure at #TreeTopPh Baguio and Subic

PR: Tree Top Adventure Baguio - Experience The Extreme
Experience extreme adventure and extreme relaxation at Tree Top Adventure Baguio, the only motorized zipline in the Philippines and the only Team Building facility in Baguio. With seven outdoor activities and team building facilities, located within Camp John Hay, surrounded by pine trees and overlooking breathtaking views, Tree Top Adventure Baguio offers an adventure of a lifetime.

For the thrill seekers who want to experience extreme adventure, you might want to experience their Tree Drop in which you’ll be suspended 60 feet above the ground, mission impossible style and you’ll be falling as fast as 2 to 3 seconds. This Tree Top’s most extreme activity costs Php 150.00 only and this is one way to really quench your thirst for adrenaline rush. You might also want to try rides done in pairs: the Superman Ride and Silver Surfer. As the name implies, you’ll be ziplining, Superman Style, 200 meters long, 150 feet above the ground, but instead of doing it just forwards, you would also be ziplining backwards. Silver Surfer is a 60 degree diagonal motorized zipline in which you’ll be standing on a specialized platform and you’ll be gliding up and down for three cycles. Expect that there would be stops and swings for every cycle. For Php 300.00 and Php 200.00 respectively, you could experience what superheroes feel as they fly and glide through the air.

For those who want to experience extreme relaxation, you could try the Canopy and Funicular ride which costs Php350.00. The Canopy is similar to the concept of cable cars, but instead, you’ll be seated on cable chairs in which you’ll be transferring from one station to another until you complete all eight stations. When you reach the station four of the Canopy, you would walk for around 2 to 3 minutes to be able to reach the connecting ride of Canopy which is the Funicular ride. This ride is similar to the concept of elevator, but, instead of standing up, you’ll be seated. This is at least a way for you to conquer your fear of heights. But, if you really have extreme fear of heights, you could just avail the Trekking and Skywalk in which you would walk around Tree Top’s area and go up the skywalk area, or the viewing deck in which you could see the mountains of Itogon, Benguet, the so called, old Baguio before. You could stay at the Skywalk areas long as you want to take pictures and feel the cold breeze.

If your company plans to have a convention or seminar at Baguio, you might want to experience Tree Top's Team Building Activities which includes two high element activities (Tree Drop and Silver Surfer), five low element activities, boodle lunch and facilitators for just Php 800.00 per head only. The activities would really challenge each member and how they work with their workmates. Work and play, as the cliché says! You might also want to try another branch of Tree Top Adventure Subic located at the JEST Area, Upper Mau Cubi Point Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
