My first Yummy Diet 1 week meal plan

My first Yummy Diet 1 week meal plan

I started my Yummy Diet 1 week meal plan last April 13. I was excited to try this so I'll be ready for the upcoming swimming with my family and friends, lol. For my breakfast I had Whole wheat bread with egg, Braised Pork and Red Rice for lunch and Fish Fillet and Red Rice. Apple and Orange for morning and afternoon snack.

The good thing about Yummy Diet is that you wouldn't feel that you are on a diet because the set of meal are just all yummy and flavorful. Not the typical diet meals that are bland and seems it doesn't have any salt or pepper for flavoring.

2nd dayWhole Wheat Bread with cheese and beans for breakfast. Chicken Salad for lunch and Spaghetti for dinner. Banana and  Whole Grain Cereals for morning an afternoon snack. I liked the spaghetti and the bread with cheese the most.

3rd day, BLT Sandwich for breakfast, Asian Beef with Snow peas and Red Rice for lunch. Stir fry Tofu  with Red Rice for dinner, Orange and Mango cup for morning and afternoon snack.

4th day, Braised Pork with Egg and Red Rice for breakfast. Chicken Salad for lunch and Fish Fillet with squash, red bell pepper and Rec Rice for dinner. Apple and Whole Wheat Crackers for morning and afternoon snack.

5th day, I had Mushroom with Tofu and Red Rice, Rosemary Chicken, Pork with Carrots and Red Rice. and for morning & afternoon snack, Banana and Greek Style Yogurt.

I have to say that somehow, I lose a few pounds for having these 5 day meal plan. Though I am eating red and brown rice for more than a year now, I am not that conscious for the amount of food that I take. Being on a diet takes a lot of patience. You can't achieve the body that you want if you don't eat proper food and exercise.

ZOMATO to host Restaurant Summit 2015

ZOMATO to host Restaurant Summit 2015

Bringing Restaurants to the Digital Age

The Internet has revolutionized our way of life by making access to information easier. Now, every bit of information is literally just a click away. With the internet being an integral part of our everyday life, consumers increasingly go online to research for options before making decisions, like deciding where to eat.

With this fact in mind, food businesses are now taking advantage of what the web can do for them. Today, the food industry is investing time and effort in creating and sustaining their digital visibility to promote their services and goods online. And because these avenues have wider reach, promotion has never been easier, faster, and more effective.

According to Zomato, an online and mobile restaurant search and discovery service, having websites and social media accounts allows restaurants to create more buzz in the online space.

“If you are visible online, especially on Zomato, the searcher will eventually find you, out of a great number of restaurants within an area,” says Anton Ojeda, Zomato Philippines country manager. “By the time you’re shortlisted, it will just depend on the food preference of the searcher to choose you.”

Being visible in the digital space is like hitting two birds with one stone for the food industry. Ojeda adds that having digital presence does not only promote a brand, it also opens the communication line between restaurants and their patrons. “Being present in the digital space is not just about letting people know about your brand. It is about reaching out to them,” Ojeda said.

Through comments and feedbacks, restaurants are informed of how consumers find their services and food. Today, because of social media, consumers can freely say what they think about a particular restaurant, both positive and negative. Zomato found out that reviews by food bloggers as well as everyday diners play an important part when picking out a place to eat. “Filipinos have the habit of researching about a restaurant before actually eating there, and they rely on reviews they find in the Internet,” states Ojeda.

On the other hand, consumers can also give negative feedback through social media, which, as Ojeda says, restaurants take seriously. “In Zomato, restaurant owners can reply to bad reviews,” shares Ojeda. “You’d be surprised how seriously they take these reviews and how quickly they would take actions to address them. And even those with a lot of good reviews would reassess their operations after just one negative feedback from a user.”

Generally, having digital visibility plays an important part in the success of the food industry. It can either make or break the business. One just really needs to be wise enough to take advantage of its benefits, and use any negativity as a catalyst to make the venture grow.

Building a restaurant’s online presence and promoting brands in the digital age will be one of the topics in the first local Zomato Restaurant Summit to be held on May 19. The event, which has the theme Conquering the Digital Age, will bring together restaurateurs and foodies to talk about how restaurants can level up their games in the digital stage. Other topics include the evolution of Philippine restaurants and food tourism. For more information about the Summit, visit https://www.facebook.com/ZomatoSummit.

Mati's Meat and Bread: Sinful and Flavorful Meals

Mati's Meat and Bread: Sinful and Flavorful Meals

Mati's Meat and Bread is located in the Filinvest River Park, Alabang. The restaurant is named after the owners son Mateo (Mati - nickname). Mati's Meat and Bread are the casual version of Melos Steakhouse. Prices are much more affordable, yet the quality and taste is not compromised. We are able to try most of their sinful, yet so flavorful meals.

For starters, this Truffled Bone Marrow is just mouth-watering just like its sauce overflowing in the bone marrow. Very sinful. The flavors just explode in your mouth. OA, I know, but really this is a bad boy meal.

Balot Aligue, this is so far the most exotic food I'll ever eat, though this is a famous food for us Filipinos. Balot is known for a good source of calcium. This is a duck embryo. I was brave enough to try this. When you cut the embryo you'll see those hairs and eyes of the bab ducks. But, the sauce is really good.

I love how fresh this Oyster Rockefeller. With cheese on top, heaven!

Special Tacos with Kimchi & Nori Cream Cheese Spread. What I love about this taco is that the Kimchi isn't overpowering the taste of the meat and cream cheese.

One of the best sellers meal is Mama's Buffalo Wings.  I really like this chicken. I had 4 of these. Lol. My kid liked it too.

Tali's Gamberetti Pizza. This pizza has shrimp, anchovy, mushroom with basil and roasted garlic is one of the best thin pizzas I ever tasted.

Another great pizza from Mati's.  Bia's Four Cheese.

Camille's Spinach and Arugula Bean Salad. With sweet chili vinaigrette and mangoes & cherry.

Vince's Chicken Arugula Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette reduction.  Mind you, those on top are not calamares, those are fried sweet onions. We were all confused when we all tasted it, until Paul (the owner) said it's an onion.

USDA Salpicao Rice. I don't wanna exaggerate how I liked this dish but really, first taste of the beef plus the salpicao rice is heavenly. I can have 2 cups of rice because of this.

USDA Steak.  This steak is around 150 grams (hope my memory serves me right). With mashed potato and veggies. Cooked medium rare, though I liked a medium well, but it still tastes good.

Truffle Pasta. One of the best and most flavorful pasta.

Mati's Angus Burger. The beef patty is cooked to perfection.

We had Certified Angus Rib eye, and unfortunately I wasn't able or better yet I totally forgot to take photos of it because once it was served to us, we all dig in, lol.

Our Angus Rib eye is cooked on our table side by Paul.

Choco Fudge and Eclair Cake. My kid loved it! especially the choco fudge because it has vanilla ice cream. I like most the Eclair cake coz it has fresh mangoes.

My all time favorite fruit shake, Watermelon Shake.

Overall foodie experience, 5/5. Price is very reasonable, price range from 200 to 400 php. Angus Ribeye is around 1,400 php (worth the price). I liked the ambiance because of its high ceiling and ceiling to floor glass wall where you can see the Filinvest River Park. I will definitely be back here soon. Thanks Mati's!
