Knowing Yogyakarta Indonesia

Most Filipino travelers would go to nearby countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau (Visa free country) but very few would go to Indonesia. Most Filipinos would only know Bali and Jakarta but little did we know that Indonesia has so much to offer for all types of travelers.
In July 2016, I got invited by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia together with 50+ other South East Asian bloggers and influencers to travel around Indonesia for 12 days. I extended my trip to Jakarta for 3 days and was not able to do so much because of the traffic jam. Few from our batch went to Yogyakarta and seeing their amazing photos made me want and eager to go back to Indonesia and visit Yogyakarta.
Luckily Last January 2018, I was able to go back in Indonesia, had a 4-day trip to Jakarta with AirAsia and finally extended my trip for another 4 days just to see the wonders of Yogyakarta. I always wanted to visit temples and palaces in this region and finally, I did. Let me share you where we s…

Buffet Feast in Sambo Kojin

Honestly, I'm not a fan of buffet restaurants because I can never taste all foods offered in that restaurant. I am even a picky-eater when it comes to spicy and Japanese dishes. However, I still try to take a bite at least half of their best dishes.

Sambo Kojin is a buffet restaurant located in Sm Southmall. Offers Japanese-Korean fusion of dishes. So here's what I had for that night and Chichi was with me to try their oh-so good meals.

Bacon-wrapped veggies.

A smokeless grill pan on your table top. I'm grilling bacon-wrapped veggies & beef and mushroom for Chichi.

Wide choices of meats. Well, mostly are wrapped with bacon.

Noodle dishes are also available here.

Different choices of Tonkatsu.

If you want Noodles and soups, they have staff/cook to help you make your own.

Love all their desert choices. Cakes, Chocolates and Halo-halo. They also have ice creams (forgot to take a snap of it).

My ratings:
Food Choices: 4/5
Taste and Quality: 4/5
Price: 3/5 (800 for dinner-adult, 200 for kids)
Ambiance: 4/5

  2. This is one of our favorite buffet restaurants. I don't think I'm up for a buffet breakfast, though.

  9. I am not a good gourmet. I am a casual eater and a very selective of what kind of food to it. I am one-viand eater. I don't feel comfortable if I have so many kind of foods in my plate. As I look at the foods in the picture, I am salivating as if I want to have a taste of the foods displayed.

  13. My family is not too much into buffets. With our relatively small appetites, we do not think we can eat what the price is worth.

  20. SM Southmall is a 10-minute drive from my house. It's funny how I have not dined at Sambo Kojin. I kind of understand why you gave the price at 3 / 5 rating; 800 may be a bit too much for a Japanese buffet. Just add a few hundreds and you could already have a fusion buffet in a hotel, but that's just me. I'm giving this a try one of these days.

  24. Ah! No wonder my K-Pop fan friend keeps on inviting me to this buffet because it's specializing in Japanese & Korean dishes. This would be a great place for japanese/korean lovers but personally, I don't think I'd get my money's worth since I don't really eat much of these cuisines.

Beach-Lovin: La Thalia Beach Resort

It's Summer time now! And the best place to treat yourself from our hectic work by going to the beach - a quiet place, far from the hustling and bustling city,  and just have a total relaxation at the ocean. It's been a while since I had a visit to the beach and I had such a great time spending my 2 days at the La Thalia Beach Resort in Bauan Batangas. Batangas is a 2-hour drive from Manila and Bauan Batangas has white beach sand. La Thalia is a half hectare property that has a great beach front andrelaxing rooms - couple room & barkada room/family room, Pavillion that can accommodate 100 pax, restaurant, basketball court, table tennis, and water sports such as Jetski, Paddle Boat, Kayak and they also offer island tour where you and your group can have fish feeding and snorkeling at the same time.
