Knowing Yogyakarta Indonesia

Most Filipino travelers would go to nearby countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau (Visa free country) but very few would go to Indonesia. Most Filipinos would only know Bali and Jakarta but little did we know that Indonesia has so much to offer for all types of travelers.
In July 2016, I got invited by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia together with 50+ other South East Asian bloggers and influencers to travel around Indonesia for 12 days. I extended my trip to Jakarta for 3 days and was not able to do so much because of the traffic jam. Few from our batch went to Yogyakarta and seeing their amazing photos made me want and eager to go back to Indonesia and visit Yogyakarta.
Luckily Last January 2018, I was able to go back in Indonesia, had a 4-day trip to Jakarta with AirAsia and finally extended my trip for another 4 days just to see the wonders of Yogyakarta. I always wanted to visit temples and palaces in this region and finally, I did. Let me share you where we s…

Affordable 3-Star Hotel: Eurotel Malate Manila

Manila is the capital city of the Philippines. Staying around Manila is easy breezy because many establishments, hotels, shopping malls and tourists spots are all walking distances or just a few minutes away drive via private car, bus, or cab. So many hotels to choose from along the busy streets of Malate, Mabini and Ermita.

One of the famous affordable 3-star hotel chain here in the Philippines is Eurotel. One of their branch in Manila is located in Pedro Gil Manila, just right across the Robinsons Mall. They offer 12-hour stay and 24-hour stay with free buffet breakfast for two.

Room rice starts from 1,400 PHP to 2,500 PHP / 28.57 USD to 51 USD per night good for 2 pax. 500 pesos for extra bed and breakfast per pax.

The hotel has their own restaurant but if you wanna dine to another restaurant, it's not a problem because in front of the hotel is a big mall and it has tons of affordable and good restaurant.

Getting to the hotel from Manila airport:

- take a cab/UBER or Grab going to the hotel
- via cheaper commute, ride a jeepney from the airport going to Baclaran. Ride a bus going to Taft Manila/Buendia-Taft. Drop off at Pedro Gil LRT Station, walk across the street and about 3mins walk you will see Robinsons Mall and in front of that you will see the Green and Red colored building in front of the mall.

One of the many tourist attraction in Manila is Fort Santiago. Located in Intramuros Manila.

Getting to Fort Santiago from the hotel:

- Ride a jeepney going to Divisoria via Mabini and drop off to Divisoria/Santa Cruz bridge. Walk underpass and go across the street and ride a pedicab (bike with a side seating area). Jeepney fare is 7.00 PHP / .14 USD and pedicab fare is 30 PHP to 50 PHP / .61 USD to 1 USD.
- Or might as well just take a cab/UBER or GRAB.
- Travel time is less than 20-minutes with traffic.

What to expect in Fort Santiago:

- Old Spanish colonial structures
- Learn about Filipino's national hero - Dr. Jose Rizal
- Learn about Manila's history during Spanish and American war.
- Dr. Jose Rizal Museum

I suggest having a tour guide in Fort Santiago to know more full details about Manila's history.

Entrance Fee Student: 50 PHP / 1 USD
Entrance fee Adult: 75 PHP / 1.5 USD

Aside from Fort Santiago, you may also visit Luneta Park or Rizal Park, beside the National Museum of the Philippines.

I started getting serious about blogging back in 2014. At first, all I know is we can get money from Google Ads and not from clients and attending events. Years past, I was able to write hundreds of blog articles, and I have attended many media trip, famtrip and international trip like in Indonesia and Israel where I got invited both by the Tourism Department.

Beach-Lovin: La Thalia Beach Resort

It's Summer time now! And the best place to treat yourself from our hectic work by going to the beach - a quiet place, far from the hustling and bustling city,  and just have a total relaxation at the ocean. It's been a while since I had a visit to the beach and I had such a great time spending my 2 days at the La Thalia Beach Resort in Bauan Batangas. Batangas is a 2-hour drive from Manila and Bauan Batangas has white beach sand. La Thalia is a half hectare property that has a great beach front andrelaxing rooms - couple room & barkada room/family room, Pavillion that can accommodate 100 pax, restaurant, basketball court, table tennis, and water sports such as Jetski, Paddle Boat, Kayak and they also offer island tour where you and your group can have fish feeding and snorkeling at the same time.
