Knowing Yogyakarta Indonesia

Most Filipino travelers would go to nearby countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau (Visa free country) but very few would go to Indonesia. Most Filipinos would only know Bali and Jakarta but little did we know that Indonesia has so much to offer for all types of travelers.
In July 2016, I got invited by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia together with 50+ other South East Asian bloggers and influencers to travel around Indonesia for 12 days. I extended my trip to Jakarta for 3 days and was not able to do so much because of the traffic jam. Few from our batch went to Yogyakarta and seeing their amazing photos made me want and eager to go back to Indonesia and visit Yogyakarta.
Luckily Last January 2018, I was able to go back in Indonesia, had a 4-day trip to Jakarta with AirAsia and finally extended my trip for another 4 days just to see the wonders of Yogyakarta. Movie Night Staycation at Moviebnb Pasig

If you know me well, I love staycations and checking out new hotels and hostels in the metro and even in provinces in the Philippines. I love how these chain of hotels and even start u hotels are coming up with their themes, interior designs, and concept on how to be unique with other competitors (hotels/hostel). Frequent travelers or should I say long-term travelers are looking for an accommodation that will suit for their needs and even family travelers are now looking for Air BnB whenever they are traveling, for them, it’s more convenient and cheaper as to compare if they’ll stay in a hotel.

Art Exhibit by Pilar Fall

I am such a HUGE fan of Filipino artists. I may not know all their names but whenever I see an art like paintings, sculpture, and even unconventional art like in BenCab Baguio, I am instantly amused with their gift and greatness in their craft.  When I was still in my early days of my marriage I triesd painting some artwork just so I can hang something in our new house because it’s all bare and white. I am not an amazing painter but at least I can still make a decent artwork, lol.

I am grateful to these local Filipino artist who decided to came back to their roots and showcase their amazing painting. One of which is Ms. Pilar Fall was born in Cotabato, Mindanao. Worked in the Guidance Department of Ateneo De Manila for two decades. In the 1980’s she and her two sons migrated in the USA, she first painted in her studio in San Clemente, California.

In 1994, she was awarded honors for her work in Niguel Art Association and in 2001 she held a one-woman exhibition in Antipolo, Philippines…
